Puls is not your typical home warranty service. It provides installation and repair services for the various items around your home. In the words of Puls, “We make your home work so you can make everything else work.” Basically, it’s a home maintenance provider that takes care of all of the little (and big) fix-it jobs around the home. From smart home installation to cell phone repair, home appliance fixes, and plumbing, Puls covers a lot.

Puls covers a huge range of appliances and services. From garage door repairs to dishwasher installations, iPhone repairs, and everything in between—the list is pretty exhaustive. We’ll give you a partial list in the section below.
Puls coverage works differently than your average home warranty service, and that’s an important difference you need to understand. Usually, you purchase a home warranty plan, pay your monthly/annual premium, and you’re covered. Whenever something breaks, the technician comes to fix it. You’ll likely pay a service fee, but the labor and parts are covered.
Puls, on the other hand, is not a subscription-based service. While you can pay for a membership, you aren't covered uncategorically, and you don't pay a monthly premium. Instead, you pay for each item that you need fixed. So, if your cell phone breaks, you'll pay to have that fixed. If you get a new TV that you want installed, you'll pay for that. It's more of a one-off service than a subscription plan.
This type of pricing works for some people and not for others. If you have older appliances that need frequent maintenance, you might not appreciate having to pay every time a technician comes (though you’ll likely have to pay something when a home warranty technician comes regardless). In that case, an annual subscription would be more economical for you.
On the other hand, if you just need something installed, fixed, hooked up, or whatever once in a while, Puls is a much more affordable option. You don't have to pay any monthly premiums. You just pay for the services you use.
Puls has a good guarantee policy, too. Labor and parts are covered for a minimum of 90 days, and certain items have a much longer guarantee.
Puls doesn’t have an annual membership plan like most home warranty services do. There are 2 pricing options with Puls: you can sign up for a membership, or you can pay for one-off home maintenance services as they come up. Here’s a partial list of the services available through Puls and what they’ll cost you:
|Appliance repair||From $139|
|Garage door maintenance||$69-$900|
|Cell phone services||$99|
|Smart home setup||$49-$109|
You can also sign up for a Puls membership plan. There are several tiers to choose from, and memberships come with discounts on services, longer guarantees on work, and special promotions. Memberships are available for 1-year plans, active from the day you sign up. Here are the 2 membership plan options:
|Puls+ Maintenance||Puls+ Protection|
|Discounts||20% off all services||20% off all services|
|Two flat-rate service calls - $129 each for appliance repairs||No||Yes|
|Waived security and support fees||Yes||Yes|
|Extended service guarantee||180 days||1 year|
|Free annual home check-up||Once a year||Twice a year|
|Exclusive monthly offers||Yes||Yes|
|Concierge support||During business hours||24/7|
|Pro DIY content||Limited content||Unlimited content|
These prices are all-inclusive, including parts, taxes, and all labor. That’s good because it means there are no surprise charges later on down the road. What else is nice about Puls is that you don’t pay until the job is completely done.
Since this is a home maintenance service, you have to work with one of the technicians within the network. Fortunately, Puls has a network of technicians numbering more than 5,000. The company is very particular about who they accept into the network, too. According to Puls’ policy, only the top 10% of applicants are allowed to work within the network. Every technician is required to go through a thorough background check as well. What’s more, technicians are all licensed and insured in their field of expertise.
Scheduling a Puls appointment is pretty simple. You can generally get an appointment on the same day. If you don't need a same-day appointment, Puls will schedule one for a time that works for you in the future. You'll get a call or text message when the technician is on the way.
Puls is not the traditional home warranty service, so you might be wondering how it compares to other more conventional services. Here’s a quick look at 2 more typical home warranty services and how they hold up alongside Puls:

Puls is a different approach to home warranty. Rather than paying for the security that you're covered in case something happens, Puls makes you pay only when you need assistance. That can be a more affordable option for people who don't want to pay the monthly premiums of more traditional home warranty services. Puls has a large network of technicians and is expanding all the time. The services available are also pretty extensive.
Puls is headquartered in San Francisco and Tel Aviv, servicing the areas that stretch between Los Angeles and Raleigh, North Carolina. All technicians are carefully vetted, going through a full background check, and required to have full licensing and insurance in their fields. Though it has only been in business a few years, Puls already has a B rating on BBB and lots of positive reviews online.
